Engagements

From first symptom list to signed-off report

Every engagement follows the same backbone—whether you book a full query performance review or a narrower ORM mapping review. Depth changes; the rhythm does not.

  1. 1. Intake call (45 minutes)

You share measured symptoms, database engine, deployment model, and compliance constraints. We confirm whether staging access or read-only telemetry is available and propose a package or day estimate.

  2. 2. Access and guardrails

Signed NDA if needed, VPN or bastion credentials, and agreement on capture windows. We document who can approve DDL on production and whether changes roll out via migration tools.

  3. 3. Capture week

We collect slow-query logs, representative execution plans, ORM SQL traces, and pool metrics. Workshops with your engineers map hot endpoints to statements.

  4. 4. Analysis and pairing

Findings are drafted with ranked recommendations—quick wins, structural changes, and items that need product decisions. We pair on one or two fixes when that accelerates validation.

  5. 5. Written report and retrospective

You receive a PDF and ticket-ready appendix. The flagship review includes a follow-up call after your team deploys selected changes to review metrics together.
